The Phase II project of the Liu'ao Offshore Wind Farm in Zhangpu, Zhangzhou, Fujian Province, undertaken by China Three Gorges Energy, is located in the offshore waters southeast of the Liu'ao Peninsula in Zhangpu, covering an area of approximately 22.9 square kilometers. It is the first offshore wind farm project in southern Fujian and the first project in China to mass-produce 16 MW single-unit offshore wind turbines. The project has a total investment of nearly 6 billion yuan, a designed total installed capacity of 400 MW, and is expected to generate over 1.6 billion kWh of electricity annually after commissioning. This will save approximately 500,000 tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 1.36 million tons annually.
